Valerie Simmons

Valerie started out as a Registered General Nurse in 1992 in Dublin, Ireland. In 1995, she went on to become a Registered Midwife in Wales, UK. Prior to arriving in Canada in 2005, she practiced and taught in various hospitals in the UK, the Republic of Ireland and Uganda. She completed a Masters in Health Service Studies and Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education and has worked as a Midwifery Instructor in both the UK and Canada. Valerie is currently a tenured Lecturer and the Vancouver Island Cohort Lead for the UBC Midwifery Program.
