About

The University of British Columbia’s Midwifery Program was the first to be established in western Canada, and the second in the country. It has been educating midwives since 2002, and launched the Internationally Educated Midwives Bridging Program in 2015.

The Midwifery Program is an active center of research and clinical expertise that includes academic faculty, clinical faculty, visiting scholars, and postdoctoral fellows.
