Campbell, Allison

Allison Campbell, RM, MA, is a Registered Midwife, Associate Professor of Teaching, and Interim Director of the UBC Midwifery Program. A member of the program’s inaugural student cohort, she later returned to UBC as faculty and has developed a longstanding record of teaching, leadership, and service within the program.
Campbell’s academic work is grounded in social and reproductive justice and spans both midwifery education and care. She is currently pursuing doctoral studies at UBC’s Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice, examining the experiences of people giving birth and parenting while incarcerated in British Columbia.
Her contributions to teaching and scholarship have been recognized with a UBC Killam Teaching Prize and a UBC Public Scholars Award. As Interim Director, Campbell brings her extensive knowledge of the program, commitment to equitable midwifery education, and deep connection to the UBC Midwifery community to its next chapter.
