UBC Midwifery Hiring Clinical Faculty for Teaching Roles in 2025

The UBC Midwifery Program is hiring clinical faculty to support several courses in the 2025 academic year. Positions are available across Term 1 and Term 2, with both online and in-person teaching opportunities. 

Applicants must be midwives with active or recent clinical practice. A Master’s degree and teaching experience are strongly preferred. 

Courses range from introductory theory and applied health sciences to advanced midwifery care. Tutors are responsible for attending class, supporting students, assisting with grading, and facilitating tutorials, where applicable. Compensation is $5,333 per 3-credit course.

Term 1 (Sep 2 – Dec 5) 

MIDW_V 103: Applied Health Sciences in Midwifery 

  • Tuesdays, 1–4 pm | Online + In-person (Vancouver, Victoria, or Surrey) 
  • Course Lead: Cele Jevitt 
  • Responsibilities: Attend class, support students, assist with grading 

MIDW_V 210: Evidence-Informed Midwifery 

  • Thursdays, 9–12 pm | Online
  • Course Lead: Hamideh Bayrampour 
  • Responsibilities: Attend class, support students, assist with grading 

MIDW_V 405: Theory for Advanced Midwifery Care 

  • Thursdays, 9–12 pm | Online + 5-day intensive in Vancouver 
  • Course Lead: Kim Campbell 
  • Responsibilities: Facilitate tutorial group, support grading 

Term 2 (Jan 5 – Apr 10) 

MIDW_V 108: Theoretical Foundations for Midwifery Practice 

  • Tuesdays (online) & Thursdays (1–4 pm, in-person @ BCWH) 
  • Course Lead: Natalie Johnson 
  • Responsibilities: Attend Thursday sessions in person, support grading
