PSAS

Anxiety is very common during pregnancy. An estimated one in five women experience this condition during pregnancy. Dr. Bayrampour’s team is developing a scale, the Pregnancy Specific Anxiety Scale (PSAS), to detect anxiety and its severity among pregnant women.

This study has been funded by the Canadian Institutes for Health Research.

There is some uncertainty as to what links exist between cannabis use and poor birth outcomes and child development. Recent trends show that cannabis usage during pregnancy is increasing. Dr. Bayrampour’s team will collect preliminary data on cannabis use during pregnancy and its links with newborns’ development.
