Biography
OpenClose

I am a white settler of Scandinavian/Scottish descent and grew up on the Traditional Territory and Treaty Lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (Mississauga, Ont). I have been practicing as a Registered Midwife in BC since 2013, first in Abbotsford and Squamish before settling in Vancouver in 2015. I am passionate about full spectrum reproductive health care and perused my Master of Public Health in 2019 with a specific focus on inequities in the Canadian healthcare system and how midwives can improve access to reproductive care. I have been involved in the Midwifery Education Program at UBC since 2014, first as a clinical faculty and now as a full-time lecturer. I will be based on Vancouver Island, where my family is relocating in 2025.
