The UBC Midwifery Program is pleased to announce the appointment of Allison Campbell as Associate Director of the program, effective (retroactively) January 1, 2025.
Ms. Campbell brings more than a decade of academic and clinical midwifery experience and a longstanding commitment to social justice and health equity. Since joining the program in 2012, she has held numerous leadership roles, including Undergraduate Program Lead and Interim Program Lead. Her contributions have shaped the program’s curriculum, student experience, and accessibility for historically underrepresented communities.
Ms. Campbell has been instrumental in expanding the Midwifery Program’s reach through initiatives like the Distributed Online Midwifery Education (DOME) project and continues to lead significant curriculum renewal efforts. In 2024, she was honoured with the Killam Teaching Prize, recognizing her excellence in teaching and student mentorship.
We were delighted to celebrate Ms. Campbell’s promotion with students, faculty and staff on May 20, at the graduation dinner, and we look forward to her continued leadership in strengthening midwifery education across British Columbia.
