On August 10, 2015, UBC Midwifery welcomed the very first cohort of the Internationally Educated Midwives Bridging Program (IEMBP). With just four students and a dedicated team, the program began its journey of supporting internationally educated midwives to enter practice in British Columbia.
Ten+ years later, we are proud to celebrate IEMBP’s role in fostering equity, advancing midwifery, and strengthening care for families across the province. Thank you to all of the students, alumni, faculty, and partners who have contributed to this milestone.
