Cindy Storie-Soth has been a Registered Midwife for the past 6+ years in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Cindy came to the profession with a diverse corporate and self-employment background. She was a Managing Director and the Chief Financial Officer of an incorporated adventure tourism company. Leaving that to raise her children, she was then drawn to the birthing world and started working part-time as a self-employed doula and childbirth educator. As her children grew, she took on more work and put her financial background to work doing bookkeeping for various non-profit organizations in her community and working with them to ensure their boards had a full understanding of their financials.
As a registered midwife with Nanaimo Registered Midwives, she has become an integral part of the healthcare landscape, offering compassionate care to expectant families of diverse backgrounds in the greater Nanaimo-Ladysmith-Parksville region. As well Cindy has also been part of the Perinatal EMR Committee for Island Health, helping to make electronic medical record keeping for maternity care workers more intuitive and user-friendly.
Her commitment to the profession is also evident through her work as treasurer with the Midwives Association of British Columbia (MABC).
With an unwavering dedication to both midwifery and financial excellence, Cindy is determined to help midwives maximize their earning potential by educating midwives on how to engage in the right midwifery office practices, develop a good business skill set and embrace record keeping. She believes all midwives should fully comprehend the “business side” of midwifery.
