On May 21st, UBC Midwifery Director Dr. Michelle Butler and Associate Professor Saraswathi Vedam congratulated the 2014 graduates at their convocation. This year marked a milestone as we welcomed our 100th graduate of the program amongst our 20 new graduates.

In December 2023, UNESCO inscribed “Midwifery: knowledge, skills and practices” onto its Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This recognition underscores the universal significance of midwifery across diverse cultures.
