Strategic Plan

The UBC Midwifery Program has developed a new Strategic Plan to guide our work over the next four years. Through collaboration and thoughtful analysis, this plan addresses changing trends in midwifery, defines our priorities, and strengthens our mission to serve diverse communities.

During strategic sessions throughout 2024, faculty and stakeholders came together to:

  • Identify internal strengths and weaknesses, as well as external opportunities and challenges.
  • Examine societal, economic, and technological trends shaping midwifery education and healthcare.
  • Revisit, validate, and update the program’s vision, mission, and values to reflect our evolving environment.
  • Set clear priorities and success measures for the future of our program.

This plan builds on our strengths, responds to emerging needs, and ensures we remain leaders in midwifery education, research, and practice. We invite you to explore our updated Vision, Mission and Values outlined on our About Page.

The Midwifery Program strategic Framework supports and aligns with the Faculty of Medicine (FoM).
