UBC Midwifery is a hub for some of Canada’s foremost experts and researchers in maternity care. Our esteemed faculty includes dedicated researchers and teams at the forefront of advancing maternal health.
Program faculty and research teams are funded by many esteemed institutes, bolstered by dedicated support from UBC. Interdisciplinary work is supported by dynamic and strong collaborations between the Department of Family Practice, the Women’s Health Research Institute, and the Child & Family Research Institute.
While the core research is in Vancouver, collaborations exist with researchers and health-care practitioners across the province and in other Canadian provinces and territories, as well as international jurisdictions. These collaborations provide for the sharing of valuable insights, enhancing healthcare practices and improving outcomes for parents and families.
These professors have significantly contributed to various areas of midwifery and maternal health, with well over 200+ papers collectively, enhancing academic knowledge and clinical practice.
