Misty Wasyluk received a BHSc from Laurentian University’s Midwifery Education Program in Sudbury Ontario and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Health degree at the University of Victoria. She has practiced as a Registered Midwife for thirteen years, first practicing in Cambridge Ontario, and then Fort Langley, BC before moving to Victoria, in 2011. Here, she became a practicing midwife at Access Midwifery with privileges at Victoria General Hospital and a clinical faculty member at UBC. She has served as Lead, Clinical Faculty and Placement Support Coordinator within the Midwifery Program at UBC since 2017.
Past professional responsibilities have included serving the Midwives Association of BC as a Board Member, provincial MABC Representative for the Canadian Association of Midwives, and former Co-chair and now ally member of the Midwives Association of BC’s Committee for Indigenous Birthing. Throughout Misty’s clinical practice she has enjoyed precepting undergraduate students.
