Lead, Midwifery Continuing Professional Development

The Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia is pleased to invite applications for the position of Lead, Midwifery Continuing Professional Development. This is a 0.40 FTE (2 days per week) position for a one year with the possibility of renewal, subject to satisfactory review, and is expected to be filled by a candidate internal to the Faculty. The anticipated start date is September 1, 2017, or upon a date to be mutually agreed.

The Midwifery Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Lead will provide leadership for a provincial CPD program for midwives across British Columbia. This position will work closely with a consortium of key midwifery stakeholders in BC including the College of Midwives of BC, the Midwives Association of BC, the UBC Midwifery Program, and the UBC Division of Continuing Professional Development (UBC CPD) in the Faculty of Medicine. The incumbent will design and implement CPD programming that benefits the midwifery profession and the stakeholder organizations.

The position reports to the Executive Medical Director, CPD and works closely with CPD staff and leadership including the Associate Dean, CPD and the Director, CPD. The incumbent also takes direction from and is accountable to the Midwifery CPD Consortium consisting of CMBC, MABC, the UBC Midwifery Program, and UBC CPD leadership.

The successful applicant must be a midwife registered with the College of Midwives of British Columbia. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellence in communication, collaboration, credibility in the community, and leadership with a variety of stakeholders, experience in identifying and championing key technology-based solutions, and understanding of midwifery regulations and scope of practice.
